Pastor Laurie is from the AOG Cornerstone Church in Sydney (see 4th photo). He is helping Pastor Joshua expand God's kingdom on Tanna Island, Vanuatu with the help of Australian and New Zealand volunteers.

In August 2005, Pastor Laurie with 2 Australian volunteers and the help of the local people built a church for Pastor Joshua at Green Hill. The church is 18m x 14m and took 12 days to build. This church is called the Healing Touch Centre, where many people, both local and foreigners have been healed from sickness and many miracles have taken place.

Over the past 2 years, Pastor Laurie has been organising teams of volunteers to help build a further 9 churchs on Tanna. All materials have been donated by various churchs with the timber being cut and milled locally.

Each church costs approximately $4000 (AU$). New Zealand and Australian churchs can sponsor a Tanna Island church and this becomes their Sister Church, where they can help with the ongoing expenses and become a part of the church and village life on Tanna Island.

Pastor Joshua would like to spread the gospel throughout the remaining 82 islands. Those that have been to Tanna Island are passionate about helping Pastor Joshua achieve this. 

During August/September 2008 (dates yet to be confirmed), there will be another team of volunteers going to Tanna Island to build a vocational school and a 5 bedroom complex to house volunteers in the future. The expected cost for both buildings is $50,000 (AU$).

The vocational school will offer short courses such as carpentry, plumbing, small engine maintenance and vehicle mechanics.

In Matthew 9:37-38 it tells us "The harvest is great but the workers are few. Let us pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields." 

As the Body of Christ let us join together and help spread God's kingdom throughout Tanna and the surrounding islands. The people are hungry for Jesus Christ, let us not abandon them and show them the way to salvation.
